The Hornblower is mailed to over 1600 neighborhood homes and businesses four times per year. 

Advertise with us! It is an excellent way to reach residents of the neighborhood about your business.

Advertisers contract in late spring/early summer for four issues. Contact the volunteer ad coordinator for further details.

 

Please review the ad guidelines following (you can print them out from the Ad Specification document linked here). Our ad coordinator is a volunteer; it helps her if you familiarize yourself with these before you place an order or contact her with a question. We look forward to hearing from you.

Ad Copy Deadlines

  • Fall: August 4, arriving early September

  • Winter: November 3, arriving early December

  • Spring: February 3, arriving early March

  • Summer: May 4, arriving early June

Ad sizes and annual rates

  • Small (2” x 3.5”, business card sized) - $220/year

  • Medium (2.5” x 3.25”) - $250/year

  • Large (2.5” x 5.5”) - $480/year

Note: Ads may be horizontal (landscape) OR vertical (portrait).

Payment and Confirmation

  • NEW ADVERTISERS: Please add form-submission@squarespace.info, hornblowerads@dmna.org and webmaster@dmna.org to your Allowed Senders ("whitelist") BEFORE you submit your request so you will receive your confirmation and invoice.

Submitting Your Ad Copy:

  • Review the Ad Specifications and Calendar, along with other requirements in the below printable PDF.

  • Print-ready high-resolution copy in JPG or PDF formats is required. We may reject copy in the wrong format, or charge you $25.00 to convert it. (Graphic design are services not included in ad cost.)

  • Newsletter is printed in grayscale. If you wish to submit color copy, we recommend you test print on a good quality black & white printer to make sure it converts properly.

  • Copy must fit within your chosen slot dimensions. We will shrink copy that does not fit, or bill you the difference for a larger ad slot.

  • Instructions for uploading your ad copy will be in the confirmation email sent after you request a contract.

New Ad Copy for Upcoming Issues:

A reminder is emailed 1 month before each deadline in case you wish to submit new copy. If no new copy is received by the deadline, layout person may reuse copy. No refunds given if advertisers fail to submit updated copy by deadline.


Cancellations:

Cancellation requests should be emailed to hornblowerads@dmna.org by the copy deadlines. No refunds given for canceled contracts. (But new copy may be submitted for a different business.)
